MONART DRAWING CLASSES FOR WMS and TIS

SECOND CHILD ½ PRICE!

Improve your child’s fine motor skills, attention span and handwriting – join us for Monart drawing classes with your friends on the WMS campus.  Students learn the basics of drawing while experimenting with new media including design quality markers, colored pencils, chalk pastel, watercolor and much more.  Tuition includes all high quality materials.  Monart Instructor will pick up your child for class and deliver them to Panther care afterwards if needed, please send a nut and peanut free snack with your child each week.

Ages: K-5th grade, Meets Wed. 3:15-4:15 in the Lower Elem. Room at WMS

FIRST SESSION: UNDER THE SEA PAINT A DOLPHIN ON CANVAS BOARD!   

Draw and paint some of the coolest animals on Earth including a giant squid, manatee, trigger fish, dolphin, coral reef scene and make a “sandy hand” sculpture.  Students will enjoy lots of water media including wax pastels, water soluble graphite sticks, acrylic paint, watercolor and collage.

Meets: Sept. 8, 15, 22, 29; Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27. 

Tuition is $165 for 8 weeks.

SECOND SESSION: SEASONAL CRAFTS & CLAY MAKE GIFTS FOR YOUR FAMILY & ENJOY CLAY PROJECTS!

If you like crafting and making things with your hands this is the class for you! We will make several fall and winter themed projects that will make great decorations and gifts. Projects include clay animals and ornaments, a glass mosaic, a 3D winter vignette and two watercolor paintings.

Meets: Nov. 3, 10, 17; Dec. 1, 8, 15; Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26. 

Tuition is $205 for 10 weeks.

THIRD SESSION: CARTOONS USE PROFESSIONAL DESIGN MARKERS

Have fun drawing and painting your favorite characters including Baby Yoda, Dog Man, Anime, cute Kawaii animals, Among Us and more! Budding artists will enjoy learning how to draw caricatures and create their own unique style of cartoon characters.

Meets: Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23; Mar. 2, 9, 23, 30

Tuition is $165 for eight weeks.

FOURTH SESSION: FANTASY CREATURES PAINT A DRAGON ON CANVAS BOARD!

This class is perfect for anyone that has an active imagination or likes to create their own fantastical beasts. Projects include a dragon, wizard, centaur, unicorn, mer-pets, make a fairy house, design a castle, paint an enchanted forest scene and create your own unique animals when we play a group game called “Creatures.”

Meets: Apr. 6, 13, 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18. 

Tuition is $145 for the seven weeks.


SCIENCE CLUB AT TIS

Science Club is ideal for curious kids that are interested in science, math, engineering, literature, creating, exploring, analyzing data, building and working with others that have similar interests.  Each semester will bring a new theme and involves a series of core concept ideas including an engineering component where students will have the opportunity to test and design a prototype.  Additionally, students will practice working both independently and as a team in order to foster collaboration, communication, and social skills.  We hope to see your curious kid in classes soon! *Please send a peanut and nut free snack to school with your child each week.

Meets Fri. 3:15-4:15 in the Flex classroom on the TIS Campus, Ages K-5 gr.

Gross Science –  Fake vomit, blood and poop oh my!  The human body is extraordinary but also pretty gross!  Learn about boogers, blood, decomposition, bodily functions and more while carrying out gloriously messy, sticky, icky, gross science experiments and craft projects.  Activities include slimy boogers, squishy eyeballs, fake vomit, blood smoothies, burp bags and playing “fling a poo” game.

Meets: Sept. 10, 17, 24; Oct. 1, 8, 29.

Tuition is $130 for the six weeks. Second child ½ price!

Natural Disasters – Great for kids that love nature, weather and animals.  Get a little messy with hands on experiments that model the destruction of a tsunami, earthquake, whirlpool, tornado, volcano, brushfire, avalanche and drought.  Learn about what triggers these weather events, how best to prepare for them and lasting effects on animals and the environment.

Meets: Jan. 21, 28; Feb. 4, 11, 25; Mar. 4, 11, 25.

Tuition is $175 for the eight weeks.  Second child is ½ price!

Learning With Legos at TIS

Weekly Engineering Challenges, Second Child ½ Price!

Calling all builders, makers and creative kids!  Enroll your child in after school Learning with Legos classes to enhance their creativity and engineering skills. Fun weekly challenges will encourage your young makers to work together to create a prototype, test it and problem solve any mistakes.  Students will be encouraged to use a “Growth Mindset,” meaning, don’t give up, learn from your mistakes and trying new things is fun! Projects include a Rube Goldberg inspired marble run, design a load bearing bridge, build and race a variety of vehicles, invent wind powered futuristic structures, create a maze for our Botley robot, learn about chain reactions, assemble space ships, zip lines and more!  Students can also look forward to re-creating their Lego ideas to take home with recyclables and “junk art” materials from our stash at The Art Park.   *Please send a nut and peanut free snack with your child each week.
