Students learn the basics of drawing while experimenting with new media including markers, colored pencils, chalk and oil pastels, watercolor and much more. FIRST SESSION: AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS
MAKE A SNAKE OUT OF MODELING CLAY!
Draw and paint some of the strangest and most dangerous animals on earth! Projects include the blue ringed octopus, koala, kangaroo, cockatoo, platypus, lyre bird, kiwi bird and make a marbleized clay snake. Students will enjoy listening to traditional Aboriginal stories each week while using watercolor and wax resist, marker, colored pencil, liquid graphite sticks, chalk and oil pastels.
Dates: Sept. 4, 11, 18, 25; Oct. 2, 9, 23, 30. Tuition is $95 for the 8 wks.
SECOND SESSION: OPTICAL ILLUSIONS
MAKE AN ORNAMENT FOR A GIFT!
In this exciting “Op Art” class students will learn how to create work that can trick the eye by combining or layering different lines, patterns and shapes. Projects include radial paper designs, parabolic lines, a waving flag with bald eagle, a bulging heart, a 3D snowflake, an optical illusion ornament and more! Perfect for any child that enjoys art, math or making things with their hands. Lots of ruler practice involved too!

THIRD SESSION: CREEPY CRAWLY KS CRITTERS
STUDENTS WILL ENJOY THIS ART AND SCIENCE CLASS!
Learn about life in the wilds of KS while creating collages, drawings and paintings of our state’s coolest critters such as a box turtle, orb-weaver spider, a deer, a bull frog, honeybee on a sunflower, an owl and more! Students will enjoy investigating new natural specimens each week.
Dates: Jan. 22, 29; Feb. 5, 19, 26; Mar. 5, 12, 26. Tuition is $95 for the 8 wks.
FOURTH SESSION: GREEK MYTHOLOGY
PAINT WITH METALLIC WATERCOLOR!
Do you love Greek Mythology, monsters and Percy Jackson? We do too!
Have fun drawing and painting a cyclops, Zeus, Athena, a minotaur, a hydra, a harpy and a satyr all while learning about ancient Greece. Students will enjoy listening to coordinating stories read aloud and excerpts from the “Magic Tree House Fact Tracker Ancient Greece” chapter book.
