BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT MONART SCHOOL OF ART
If your child enjoys making things with their hands, this is the perfect way to celebrate their birthday! There are four different options for parties: a traditional Monart Drawing or Painting Party, a Craft Party, Plaster Pouring Party or a Lego Party. Each type of party can be for any age above three years. The cost for a party is $275 for 12 attendees including the Birthday person; for any additional guests, please budget $5 per person. These fun two hour long parties can be scheduled on Fridays after school or Saturday afternoons. Monart will provide all the needed art or Lego materials and 1-2 instructors plus helpers, depending on the age and size of the party. The art or Lego part of the party is approximately 90 minutes, with the remaining 30 minutes for refreshments and presents. Please bring three plastic table clothes for the refreshment tables, treats (we suggest cookies for easy cleanup) and bottled water or juice. Many parents do not send home a “treat bag” with guests because each guest will make several pieces of art to take home (one or two art/craft pieces will be created at a Lego party). We also have a large playground outside that guests are welcome to use during or after the scheduled party. In fact, if weather permits we are happy to have the party “spill over” into the playground or have refreshments outside. We decorate for each party to align with the theme on the bulletin boards in each classroom. You are welcome to come 15 minutes prior to party time to do additional decorating If you need additional time beyond the 15 minutes the rate is $25 per each 15 minute incremnets.
To schedule your party please email: theartparkwichita@gmail.com and have three date options for us to choose from. Once a date is confirmed by our staff you will need to pay for the party using the payment tab above. The more we know about the birthday person, the more creative we can be with art and craft projects at the party. You give us the theme or ideas, and we will do the rest! Descriptions below are only ideas for parties; we can tailor your party to your tastes. Our creative parties are geared for fun and learning!
Additional Things to know:
- Tell guests to wear clothes that can get messy!
- No babies or toddlers can attend the party. There are two reasons for this: if a parent is holding their baby or toddler they are unable to help their older child complete crafts. The most important reason however, is safety. We use many materials which would be unsafe for babies or toddlers to ingest or even handle. It is a professional art studio after all! If you have a baby or toddler please find alternate childcare so you can give your full attention to the party and guests.
- If parents plan on attending and their child does not need help with crafts we kindly ask that parents visit in the party room or out on the playground. We simply do not have the elbow room for dozens of parents to stand in the classrooms and visit while instructors are trying to manage the party. Our space is limited and it makes it difficult for our instructors to refill paint, help with scissors, refill materials and support the participants if there are too many adults in the classrooms.
- Tips are appreciated! Our teachers spend hours developing craft projects and work hard to bring you the very best party possible, show them your appreciation!
