Come have a fun, enriching experience during summer break! Children will get creative rotating between art and craft stations, have center time, play outside weather permitting, participate in PE class, dance, twirling and/or music theatre. A variety of art materials will be used each day; dress in clothes that can get messy, wear tennis shoes and sunscreen. Children under Kindergarten age MUST register for half day due to KDHE regulations.
*ALL STUDENTS: Bring a backpack, lunch, snacks, water bottle, we go outside in most weather. Please make sure items are labeled with names. Wear tennis shoes & dress for a mess.*
Half Day Option: 9:00-12:30, $30 per person, per day (bring a lunch, we eat lunch at 11:00)
Full Day Option: 9:00-4:00, $45 per person, per day (only available for students K-12 yrs.)
May 25: Cyanotype art day! In this multi-step process students will use natural materials to create sun prints.
May 26: Lego architecture theme – students will enjoy rotating between building challenge stations and draw a building from a bird’s eye view.
May 30: Tinker Lab Build and Play! Make a vehicle out of recycleables and our bins of treasures.
May 31: Fun in the sun! Bring your swimsuit for fun water and sensory play on the playground.
June 1: Creepy Crawlies: Draw a unique insect habitat and make bug body prints in plaster to take home.
June 2, Zoo Day: Make junk art animal sculptures, draw your favorite zoo animals and color with quick sticks.
June 9, Watercolor Jellyfish: Calling all painters! We will paint with watercolor on EXTRA-large pieces of fancy watercolor paper and do a sea turtle craft.
June 16, Addams Family: They’re creepy and they’re kooky, The Addams Family! Join us to draw and craft your favorite characters and learn parts of the famous Wednesday dance in the afternoon dance class.
June 23, Out of This World: Assemble a bottle rocket, draw and collage an alien scene and make Jabba slime.
June 30, Castles, Catapults & Catastrophes. Can your catapult’s projectiles penetrate your classmates’ castles??? Bring it on! We will also draw a dragon with their hoard and use sparkly gold watercolor paint.
July 7, Potions, Wands and Color Mixing: Learn about the color wheel, color explosions, make a wand, slime and experiment with reactive potions.
July 14, Take Flight: Draw our state bird, the Western Meadowlark, make an oversized bird sculpture and enjoy a visit from a GPNC resident bird of prey.
July 21, Fantasy Vehicle: Tinker to your hearts delight with our cool stuff to build your futuristic dream vehicle and then draw a futuristic city like the Jetsons.
July 28, Blizzards in July! Come inside and cool off with us! Study snowflakes under the microscope and experiment with homemade snow to make blizzards and fun sensory bins to take home.
Aug. 4, Shark Day: Draw a cartoon shark in a coral reef and make a cool shark tooth necklace to wear home. If you like to play sharks and minnows then make sure to stay for the afternoon PE session!
Aug. 11, Wooden Animal Sculptures: Come assemble your favorite four-legged creature, paint and decorate.
