Join us for fun art camps during spring break!  We will draw a different animal and use new art media each day as well as participate in activities and presentations sponsored by the Great Plains Nature Ceneter.  Along with the drawing, students will create crafts, have creative center time, play outside weather permitting, and rotate to other businesses at The Art Park including PE, Kelcy’s Dance Studio or music. Geared for ages 4-12, students will be grouped according to ages for the guided art lesson.  ALL STUDENTS: *MASKS REQUIRED WHILE INSIDE* Bring a lunch, snacks, water bottle, coat and wear tennis shoes and clothes that can get messy.

Half Day Option: 9:00-12:30, $25 per person (bring lunch)

All Day Option: 9:00-4:00, $40 per person


 Mon. Mar. 14- Eric Carle Animals   Do you like to paint, cut and glue?  Then this is the class for you!  Come make your own papers to cut up and collage into Eric Carle-like zoo animals.  Remember to wear clothes that can get messy!

Tues. Mar. 15 – Splish, Splash Come paint an aquarium scene with acrylics and use handmade fish stamps on a flour sack dish towel – these will make a great gift!

Wed. Mar. 16 – Scales and Tails   Watercolor a python or boa constrictor in a tree with jungle foliage.  Students will enjoy watercolor and wax resist with cool rubbing plates for the background. Visit a real snake from the GPNC!

Thurs. Mar. 17 – St. Patrick’s Day at the zoo!  Join us to make cartoon animals disguised as leprechauns!  Add a beard, hat and four-leaf clovers to your silly critter.  Also make cute foam posable animal crafts.

Fri. Mar. 18 – Feathered Friends  Did you know birds actually have three types of feathers?  Learn fun bird facts and use watercolor pencil and watercolor crayons for detailed feathers on a flamingo, parrot or toucan.  Students will also enjoy a visit from a feathered friend from the GPNC.
